Wasatch Back Drive

The Wasatch Back Drive is Thursday, June 20th at 11:00 am. We will meet at the Wanship exit of I-80 at the Sinclair station. Our leaders for the drive are Ken and Jan in “YGROWUP”.

 
We will drive past Rockport State Park and then over to Kamas. We will drive straight through Kamas and regroup after the second stop light before we reach Francis.  At Francis, at the flashing red light, we will turn left to Woodland, then when we reach Woodland Biscuit Company we will turn right and then go to a T intersection and turn left.  From there, we then go to see a heard of Buffalo from our cars along a straight section of the road. There are also several Lama Ranches in this area also.

 
We will then loop around and rejoin the main road to Woodland and head west back through Francis, and then we will pass the eastern side of Jordanell State Park. We  pause here for a picture at the reservoir overlook. We will continue on down to the stop light on Highway 40 and proceed across onto River Road. We will drive along River Road and then follow the signs to Wasatch State Park Visitors center where we may pause. 

We now have traveled about 52 miles of country roads. We will wind our way through Midway to the Town Square and park. Our lunch destination is The Corner Restaurant on the southwest corner by the huge trees. (phone 435.657.5494) There is plenty of parking on the street and behind the restaurant. This restaurant opened in the fall of 2018 and is one of our favorite places, the food is good and the prices are reasonable.. I hope you brought a small ice chest for the day for leftovers.  As we walk into the restaurant we are greeted by a large display of desserts. (They visited Taggerts before opening to get ideas.) The ride ends here, and there are several options to go to find you way back to Park City or the Salt Lake Valley.
