Where: Meet at University Park Hotel (Salt Lake People)

Time: 11:30 a.m. sharp!

 

Drive to Park City for Lunch then to Deer Valley

to look at Rooms at The Chateaux and The Lodges for our Miatas at Deer Valley Event

 

We will meet at the University Park Hotel at 11:30 a.m. and have a drive up Emigration Canyon and cut over to I-80 at Mountain Dell Reservoir.  Northern members can also meet here or just travel to Park City on your own. 

Destination is the Boneyard Restaurant, our meeting point in Park City and we want to be there around 12:00 Noon - 12:15 or so. 

 

Restaurant Directions: Take the Park City exit (where McDonald's is).  Go down Olympic Parkway (the main road) to Park City and turn left onto Kearns Blvd (Hwy. 248).  Lunch will be at Boneyard Saloon & Kitchen.  Boneyard is a couple blocks east on your right.  Address is 1251 Kearns Blvd.  Phone; 435-649-0911.  We will probably eat upstairs on the Rooftop Patio.  The Boneyard is reasonably priced and serves pub style food with appetizers, salads, soup, sandwiches and burgers plus other 'wood-fired' entrees.   www.BoneyardSaloon.com.

 

We will also have a surprise guest, Paul Schmucker, who is a local Film Producer from Park City and is on the verge of producing a film for "Everyday drivers of the Miata".  He will feature all four generations of the Miata in his film.  He wants to use 'local' talent and vehicles for his film and will tell us what his intentions are.  This film will be promoted to Mazda North American Operations and nationally (possibly worldwide).  I hope you enjoy what he has to say.

 

After lunch and a short discussion we will drive up to The Chateaux to check out the room options available and the facilities for our event.  Then we will go to The Lodges at Deer Valley to check out their rooms.  We will view the facilities at both the hotels so you will get a feel of everything that will take place during the event. You can then decide which type room you would like to be in for the event.  You can possibly book a room while there or make a reservation later on.  We will also show you how the Hotel Bedroom works with the Studio Room combination for 4 people and how the additional Bedroom Suites work.  We want to get a "Room Sharing List" going so those of you who want to share rooms together to save costs can do this as well. We will also explain the differences in detail on this day from rooming at The Chateaux verses the Lodges at Deer Valley and payment policies. Some may want to stay there.  Any questions you may have will be thoroughly explained and discussed. 

 

If you are not meeting at the University Park Hotel then please call or email me in advance that you are attending as I need to phone in a "count" for our lunch when we leave for our drive so the Boneyard can prepare for us.   Thank you,  Mike  801-597-1456.

Registration has started for Miatas at Deer Valley, The "Great Miata Mountain Getaway."

Event Date: June 22-25, 2016.  You may book your room anytime either online or by phone!

Step No.1: Is to download, print out, or just use the Registration form on Page 13 of August Newsletter. 

We will also have some Registration Forms at all our meetings; just ask for one.  Fill out the form and mail to Jim or Margie Newson with your Registration Fee of $125.00 per person.  Please note that the cost of registration goes up to $145.00 per person on January 1, 2016, so send it in NOW or before this date. Details on what fee goes for is on bottom of registration form and on information page on website.

 

Step No.2: Is to Book your room at The Chateaux, Deer Valley, our host hotel venue resort.  Hotel Bedroom or Studio Room is $149.00 per night.  Other room Suite options are mentioned on the "Room Pricing Page", also an attachment is on the website. All this information is provided so that you can decide on your room type. The Amenities included in the Resort Fee are also listed on this page. A "Room Descriptions" page is also available with more information about the rooms. Viewing the room options in person will really get you excited for the event.    Rooms will be assigned to all guests closer to the event date, not when you book. Our Committee and UMC members will have rooms close to the Registration Check-In area at the hotel.  Be sure to read cancellation policies on your rooms.
